Amazon is seeking a Cluster Operations Manager for its Transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up the delivery infrastructure in the city, which includes identifying locations for delivery stations and ensuring rapid growth in the delivery infrastructure throughout the city.


Responsibilities

* Define, build, and execute transportation processes from FC to customers, leveraging our Delivery Center network.
* Build capacity in the network by appointing Service Partners and planning IHS points, maintaining relationships with Service Partners and building their capability.
* Hire, train, and build a highly motivated workforce for the delivery teams, with support from HR and the training team, to meet operational requirements for the city, continuously meeting the high bar on quality and productivity.
* Ensure enough bandwidth in the city-wide delivery team for peak time delivery management.
* Coordinate with Finance, CS, FC, and Projects teams on matters related to city operations.
* Conduct performance appraisals of Delivery Center Managers and Channel Relationship Managers and mentor them for handling efficient operations.
* Continuously improve the delivery process and attain a sustained level of delivery performance standard, initiating improvements to enhance quality standards, reduce waste, and eliminate unnecessary work.
* Analyze data reports to identify performance bottlenecks and improve performance.
* Implement formal process control and process improvement mechanisms such as Kaizen.


Requirements

* Strong leadership capabilities and people management skills.
* Ability to work under pressure situations.
* Ability to work in ambiguous situations.
* Good communication skills, with the ability to communicate and explain to individuals and the team what needs to be achieved for the Delivery Center/Amazon to achieve its objectives.
* Ability to set and achieve timelines for tasks, setting realistic and stretching performance expectations for self and others.
* Strong Bias for great customer service, engaging the Team in developing their understanding of Customer Experience and knowledge of what Customers actually need/expect.
* High Ownership, following through to ensure the delivery of changes/solutions/services that fulfill the Customer’s needs.
* Analytical Skills, effectively analyzing and interpreting information, identifying and validating key facts, including reviewing alternatives to determine advantages and associated risks.


Basic Qualifications

* Graduation, MBA.
* Experience in the logistics field desirable.
* People management experience, with experience in handling field teams highly desirable.
* Experience in handling live operations preferred, wherein decisions have to be taken on the spot and actions need to be initiated right away.
* Knowledge of the city topography is an added advantage.
* Experience in process improvement preferred, with additional benefits for knowledge of specific methodologies such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.


Preferred Qualifications

* Masters degree in Operations will be an advantage.
* Strong familiarity with databases (querying and analyzing) such as SQL, MYSQL, Access, Exception-based reporting, etc. is considered a plus.
