Role
We are seeking a Manager to lead our Economic Crime Unit (ECU), which is part of the National Environmental Crime Unit (NECU). The successful candidate will lead a specialist team dedicated to removing the financial benefit from criminals.
Responsibilities
* Be the strategic lead for the way we manage financial investigations and ensure compliance with the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA).
* Provide strong leadership, motivating and developing your team and managing performance and work delivery. You will manage two Team Leaders (Asset Denial Team and Money Laundering Investigation Team) and a Senior Financial Intelligence Officer.
* Collaborate with internal teams (Investigatory Teams, Intelligence & Partnerships, Legal) and external partners (Police, National Crime Agency, HMRC). Influence at a senior level to ensure EA priorities are recognised by other enforcement agencies.
* Support the wider organisation in continually improving our use of POCA, share lessons learned, contribute to changes in technical documentation, and advise enforcement officers nationwide.
The team
The Economic Crime Unit comprises two teams—the Asset Denial Team and the Money Laundering Investigations Team. These teams include Financial Investigators, Financial Intelligence Officers and Crime Analysts. The unit is nationally dispersed and handles the most serious and complex criminality involving organised crime networks.
Experience / skills Required
* Exceptional leadership skills, ideally with experience leading a dispersed team. A good understanding of financial investigations and the Proceeds of Crime Act.
* Experience of working in law enforcement with an understanding of the National Intelligence Model; ability to communicate effectively, deliver feedback, manage performance and build relationships with external stakeholders.
* Ability to work under pressure and prioritise a varied workload; identify areas for improvement and lead changes to working practices; develop and enhance the capability of the team and its individuals.

Incident response is a central part of the role and you may be required to be available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident (potential additional payment).
