Job Description SEN Teacher | Brent | January 2026 A welcoming specialist school in the London Borough of Brent is looking for a dedicated SEN Teacher to join its Primary provision from January 2026 (or February half-term). This role involves teaching small, well-supported classes across Early Years to Year 2, working with pupils who present speech, language and communication needs, including autistic learners. You will be part of a close-knit, multi-disciplinary team, collaborating daily with skilled Teaching Assistants and on-site therapists to deliver a personalised curriculum that strengthens communication, confidence and academic progress. Salary and benefits Salary from £36,500 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications, with Inner London weighting where applicable. Permanent, full-time position. Small classes, typically 6 to 9 pupils, with excellent adult support. Ongoing in-class support from experienced SEN TAs. Daily collaboration with Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and other specialist professionals. Strong CPD offer, including autism-specific and communication-focused training. Key responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging Primary lessons matched to individual learning profiles. Assess, track and report progress, contributing to annual reviews and EHCP outcomes. Write, review and adapt Individual Education Plans and personalised targets. Work in partnership with TAs, therapists and families to ensure consistent, joined-up support. Use calm, clear behaviour strategies that help every child access learning successfully. Create a structured, inclusive classroom environment where communication and independence grow daily. About you QTS (or equivalent) and at least two years Primary teaching experience. Confident teaching across EYFS and/or KS1. Strong SEN experience, particularly autism and speech, language and communication needs. Warm, adaptable and creative, with excellent classroom practice and high expectations.
