TXM Recruit are delighted to announce we have an exciting opportunity as a Methods Engineer with a leading global Rail company.
Role Overview:
The key aim of the role is to optimize the assembly and manufacturing process by studying product and manufacturing methods, designing, and delivering robust process flows and work instructions. To support manufacturing programs and continuous improvement disciplines in providing cost-effective manufacturing processes for new & existing programs. To implement & manage manufacturing systems to ensure defect-free products in all areas. You will liaise with the Engineering team.
Key Responsibilities & Activities
* Responsible for ensuring your own health and safety and that of others, promoting a positive health and safety culture within the workplace.
* Be the interface with the engineering team for cost-effective introduction of new products for overhaul or manufacture on the shop floor (where, how, with what, how long, training periods, etc.).
* Develop and maintain good manufacturing practices and safe methods of work. Identify build sequence and develop product structure for assigned overhaul, assembly, or manufacturing operations.
* Lead improvement projects and give presentations to managers and staff.
* Read, interpret, and evaluate drawings, models, and designs for assembly and manufacture.
Qualifications/Education Required:
* HNC engineering qualification required or equivalent.
* Good understanding of mathematics, Lean principles and tools, Six Sigma.
* CAD qualification desirable.
