Norfolk Constabulary is seeking a motivated and capable Police Staff Investigators to join our Fraud Team, playing a key role in improving Norfolk’s response to fraud and the service we provide to victims of fraud.
This role is central to building and strengthening our fraud investigation capability. You will support investigators across the Constabulary, help improve investigative standards and fraud recording accuracy, and contribute to developing a consistent, high‑quality approach to fraud investigations across the County.
Key Responsibilities
Working as part of the Fraud Team, you will:
* Play an active role in improving Norfolk’s response to fraud and the experience of victims of fraud.
* Provide day‑to‑day support to investigators, including guidance, mentoring and assistance to help upskill colleagues and improve investigative practice.
* Support the development and embedding of fraud investigation capability across the Constabulary.
* Assist in improving the accuracy and quality of fraud crime recording and associated documentation.
* Provide resilience cover for the Fraud Administration function as required.
* Assist with pre‑planned operational activity, including arrests, interviews and searches.
* Work collaboratively with internal departments, partner agencies and other forces where appropriate.
* Represent Norfolk Constabulary professionally, supporting safeguarding priorities and victim‑focused outcomes.
* Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role and grade, as outlined within the Police Staff Investigator role profile.
Essential Criteria
* Experience of conducting investigations or enquiries, or the ability to quickly develop the required investigative skills.
* Experience of engaging with members of the public in a professional and empathetic manner.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Ability to use initiative and work proactively.
* Good digital skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
* Full UK driving licence and ability to travel across Norfolk as required.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience of working within a policing environment.
* Experience of multi‑agency working.
* Knowledge or experience relating specifically to fraud investigation.

Working Hours
This is a full‑time position, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:00.
