Creative Therapist/Counsellor role at Harmonia Careers. We are recruiting for Therapists to be part of our growing pool of creative therapeutic intervention specialists. This is a self-employed sessional position available across Sandwell and neighbouring boroughs.
Location: Sandwell and neighbouring boroughs
Hourly rate: £30–£45 per hour (depending on intervention type)
Contract: Self-employed sessional basis (Service Level Agreement provided)

Job Responsibilities
* Provide one-to-one and group creative therapeutic sessions for children, young people and adults requiring emotional wellbeing support and counselling/therapy tailored to individual needs.
* Engage parents in the creative therapy process to embed coping strategies and improve communication and relationships, with consent from the child/young person and in line with BACP confidentiality guidelines.
* Coordinate with the service co-ordinator to discuss client needs and referral issues before the 6–8 week intervention; monitor well-being at week 4.
* Follow NICE guidelines for assessment and the model of delivery.
* Maintain up-to-date client records (hard copy and Outcome Star system) and evaluate therapy interventions using Outcome Star and internal data systems.
* Provide written reports for each young person to the referral source with recommendations for further work.
* Participate in clinical supervision and assist the service co-ordinator with monitoring reports as required.
* Maintain confidentiality in line with Murray Hall policies and legislation.
* Meet regularly with the service co-ordinator to discuss and review the programme.
* Arrange suitable times/venues for private and safe counselling interventions with parents/carers/young people; support distance and blended approaches (face-to-face and remote).
* Adhere to the British Association for Counselling and Therapists (BACP) code of ethics and standards.
* Attend required meetings and mandatory training; comply with Murray Hall policies (Data Protection, Safeguarding, Health & Safety, Equality, etc.).
* Undertake any other duties as requested by management in line with the grant agreement.
Person Specification
Essential Skills, Knowledge & Understanding
* Commitment to an integrated reflective process of personal and professional development
* Knowledge of emotional wellbeing and resilience support
* Solid safeguarding knowledge and procedure understanding
* Understanding of CAMHS, referrals, and regional interventions
* Ability to work under pressure and manage complex caseloads
* Knowledge of the British Association for Counselling and Therapists and their code of ethics
* Knowledge of data protection, record keeping, and client confidentiality
Desirable
* Knowledge of child development
* Understanding of local demographics (Sandwell and surrounding areas)
* Knowledge of Every Child Matters / Keeping Children Safe in Education frameworks
Experience
* Essential: Recent experience with children and young people aged 5–18 years (emotional wellbeing and behaviour)
* Experience working with statutory and voluntary organisations to deliver therapeutic services
* Desirable: Experience in one-to-one therapy, working with parents, and report writing/evaluating programmes
Qualifications
* Minimum Level 4 qualification in counselling/therapy with at least 100 hours of clinical experience
* Membership of a recognised professional body (e.g., BACP, NCS, BCtA, UKCP); evidence required at recruitment
* Desirable: Level 5 Counselling qualification
