Job Title: Personal care assistant
Responsible to: Directly to the employer – the patients dad
Hours: 20-40 Hours per week
Work Pattern: Monday-Friday 1 ½ hours in morning
Monday-Friday 15:45-20:15
Saturday or Sunday 10:00-18:00
More hours may be available in school holidays
Hourly Rate of Pay: £13.00 per hour
Based at: Home address in Marcham, Oxfordshire
Job Purpose
The family are looking for 1-2 personal care assistants to support their 17 year old son with Angelman Syndrome in Marcham, Oxfordshire. The young man is charming and enjoys watching and listening to music and dance videos. He attends school during term time, Monday to Friday and would require either 1 full time PA or 2 part time PA’s to support him around his school hours. Hours can be discussed at the interview stage.
Job Role
Provide constant support to his wellbeing and general safety at all times.
To support to with all aspects of daily living and play. He is nonverbal, so picking up on physical cues and gestures is important.
To encourage and assist the young man to participate in activities he enjoys.
To support with PEG feeding (Full training will be provided)
To provide personal care as and when needed.
To carry out other tasks deemed appropriate to the role, when necessary.
