Teaching Assistant
Location: Gainsborough and surrounding areas, Lincolnshire
Contract: Full-time / Term-time only
Start Date: As soon as possible
GSL Education is working in partnership with a specialist school setting for children and young people aged 5–16 whose primary need is Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH). We are seeking a compassionate, resilient, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils who may find mainstream education challenging, helping them to achieve their potential both academically and personally.
About the Role as Teaching Assistant:
* Provide classroom support to teachers, ensuring all pupils are engaged and able to access learning.
* Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions to support pupils with SEMH and additional learning needs.
* Use positive behaviour management strategies to support pupils through times of dysregulation and crisis.
* Foster trusting relationships with students, encouraging confidence, resilience, and independence.
* Assist in creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that reflects the ethos of the school
The Successful Teaching Assistant Will Have:
* A genuine passion for working with children and young people with SEMH needs.
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
* Experience in supporting children with additional needs is desirable, but full training will be provided.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
