This exciting opportunity has been created for a DGSA & BCP Manager to join our team.
This is an on-site role Monday to Friday; however national travel and flexibility is required. You will be based at our Training Centre, Bittesby House in Lutterworth.

How will you contribute?
* Monitoring compliance with the requirements governing the carriage of dangerous goods. This would primarily focus on CDG (Bulk) and ADR (Road), Sea (IMDG) and occasionally Air (IATA) for retail contracts.
* Maintain and pass the legally required 5 Yearly examinations
* Advising stakeholders and customers of the undertakings on the carriage of dangerous goods.
* Preparing the group annual report for the bulk fuel sector.
* Supporting the development and implementation of site procedures and processes to ensure compliance aspect such as marking, labelling, and packaging requirements are met relevant to the mode(s) of transport of dangerous goods.
* Strong understanding of both fully regulated and exempt dangerous goods prescribed for transport (i.e. Limited Quantities, Excepted Quantities, Special provisions)
* Maintaining Group Dangerous Goods Compliance, including identifying gaps in guidance, policy, annual reporting, training, and regulatory changes.
* Supporting investigations involving dangerous goods and non-conformances and implement strategies to prevent re-occurrence.
* Preparing and delivering Dangerous Goods Awareness training to sites and customers operations that are involved in the transportation of dangerous goods.
* Responsible for the group security plan and working with bulk contracts to ensure all aspect of security measures are in place and enforced.
* Supporting site management teams with the preparation and presence during DfT inspections and audits.
* Key emergency contact for bulk contracts and supporting with conducting investigation into public reports of non-compliance, incidents, or complaints.
* Manage a team of experienced colleagues for emergency response and act as the overseeing page holder for all incidents and accidents involving high consequence goods
* Strong knowledge of COMAH Regulations and support to 2 Lower Tier warehouse sites.
* Review and prepare for intervention visits planned by the HSE and support site operators during these visits.
* Monitor and maintain Major Accident Prevention Policies where applicable.
* Demonstrates expertise in developing, implementing, and maintaining a Safety Management System for Dangerous Goods operations.
* Strong knowledge of DSEAR and the ability to complete risk assessments, site inspections and provide expert advice on legal and industry guidance surrounding the storage and handling of retail dangerous goods. (i.e. BAMA, HSG148, HSG71 etc.)
* Support site operations and the new business implementation team with storage related issues, segregation policies and any non-conformance.
* Strong knowledge of Business Continuity Planning Management and implementation of effective recovery plans within sites.
* Providing expert advice surrounding business continuity risk and recovery strategies to operations throughout the business.
* Strong knowledge of ISO 27001 (desired but not essential)
* Maintaining strong working relationships with the system developers and owners.
* Monitoring and maintenance of the group compliance in line with company policies and procedures.
* Provide updates to the SMT regarding group performance, non-conformances, and ongoing initiates.
* Delivering both individual and group training sessions to system end user for effective use of the business continuity system.
* Maintenance and administration tasks for setting up new users, deleting and adding site plans, and troubleshooting issues identified by the users and provided feedback.
* Working closely with the Central Auditing team to review function specific aspects and drive improvement across the business.
