Support Worker – Young People
Location: Cheltenham, Gloucestershire (GL51)
Salary: £12.30 – £13.00 per hour plus sleep-in allowance
Hours: 152 – 169 per month
Contract: Temp-to-Perm, rolling rota with evenings, weekends and sleep-ins
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Support Workers to join our team supporting young people aged 16 and over. This is a rewarding role where you will be part of their journey to independence and adulthood.
Main Responsibilities

Build strong and supportive relationships with young people
*
Offer guidance in independent living skills including budgeting, cooking, cleaning and personal care
*
Promote independence, resilience and informed decision-making
*
Safeguard young people by monitoring wellbeing and addressing concerns
*
Assist with access to education, training and employment
*
Maintain accurate records and reports in line with Ofsted standards
*
Work collaboratively with colleagues, managers and external agencies
*
Champion the rights and voices of young people in your care
Candidate Profile
*
Experience of working with young people is essential
*
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
*
Ability to manage challenging behaviour and remain calm under pressure
*
Good understanding of safeguarding and risk management
*
Flexibility to cover shift patterns including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins
Preferred but not essential
*
QCF Level 3 or commitment to complete
*
Youth work or social care qualification
*
First Aid or Mental Health First Aid training
