As a Senior Enterprise Architecture Manager, you will lead the Enterprise Architecture layerwithin Technology Services, shaping the Society’senterprisewidetechnology strategy, architecture principles, guardrails, capabilitymapsand roadmaps. You will provide architectural coherence across Homes, Money, Enablement and TTR, ensuring the organisation moves in a unified strategic direction that supports simplification,automationand value flow.

Acting as the practice lead for Enterprise Architecture, you will mature architectural capabilities, embed consistentdecisionmaking, and ensure solutions architecture seamlessly aligns to enterprise direction. You will also act as a deputy for the Director of Technology whenrequired, supporting both Skipton and the wider Skipton Group.

What will you be doing?

Enterprise Architecture Leadership

12. Owning and maintainingenterprisewidearchitecture ensuring it is resilient,adaptableand futureproofed to supportlongtermbusiness evolution and regulatory change.

13. Leading development of enterprise capability maps with a clear north star vision and 3–5+ year maturity horizons.

14. Embedding futureready design principles that avoidlock in, reducefragilityand ensure scalability across platforms,dataand applications.

15. Ensuring enterprise architecture fully supports the TTR vision of automation, reducedhandoffsand increased flow efficiency.

Strategic Alignment & Governance

16. Governing architectural alignment across all business areas to reinforce organisational coherence and corporate plan outcomes.

17. Identifyinglegacy patterns, duplication and technical debt, defining transition architectures and sequenced migration paths.

18. Establishing enterprise guardrails, referencemodelsand approved patterns for faster and higherqualitydecisionmaking.

19. Chairing or cochairing Enterprise Architecture governance forums, ensuring transparent andtimelydecisions.

Strategic Delivery & Prioritisation

20. Playinga central rolein prioritisation forums such as LPM, Platform Councils and Strategy & Roadmap Planning.

21. Ensuring decisions support both nearterm delivery andlongtermenterprise direction.

22. Shaping transitional architectures that enable phased delivery, minimise disruption andmaintainmomentum.

Leadership of Architecture Community

23. Leading,coachingand mentoring Enterprise, Solutions and Lead Architects to build capability and a consistent architectural approach.

24. Championing an aligned architecture community across TTR, embedding standards and shared learning.

25. Maintaining aforwardlookingview ofemergingtechnologies and integrating innovations into future roadmaps.

Collaboration & Enterprise Influence

26. Partnering withExCo, Directors, Platform Owners, Heads of Change,Engineeringand IT to shape strategic decisions.

27. Ensuring enterprise design cohesion across business, data, integration,applicationand technology architectures.

28. Owning decision frameworks for SaaS vendor selection aligned to capability maps,interoperabilityand resilience.

29. Ensuring architectural artefactsremainaccessible, highquality and linked directly tocorporateplanpriorities.

What do we need from you?

Knowledge, skills & experience

30. Extensive senior experience in enterprise or chief architecture roles within complex organisations.

31. Proventrack recordleading largescale transformation programmes and maturing architecture capability.

32. Ability to influenceExCoand executive leaders with strong strategic communication skills.

33. Deepexpertisein architectural modelling, conceptual thinking and simplifying complex problems.

34. Experience governing architecture across multiple business domains and value streams.

35. Strong facilitation, negotiation anddecisionmakingskills in complex environments.

36. Demonstrated ability to develop and lead large architecture communities.
