Maintenance Technician
Pay : £44,000 P/A Location: Knowsley,L33 Shifts: 06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00 / 22:00-06:00 Days : Monday-Friday
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of machinery and equipment within our facilities. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The Maintenance Technician will play a vital role in ensuring operational efficiency and safety across all areas of our operations.
Responsibilities
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to minimise downtime.
Diagnose faults using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
Perform repairs involving electrical systems, mechanical components, welding, and other maintenance tasks.
Read and interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings accurately.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards and company policies.
Assist in the installation of new equipment and upgrades to existing systems.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance purposes.
Supervise junior technicians or apprentices when required, providing guidance and leadership during maintenance tasks.
Collaborate with production teams to minimise operational disruptions during maintenance activities.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal client needs promptly and professionally.
Experience
Proven experience in industrial maintenance or a similar role within manufacturing or facilities management.
Strong electrical experience, including working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and electrical schematics.
Mechanical knowledge with skills in welding and general mechanical repairs.
Experience in interpreting technical diagrams and schematics accurately.
Demonstrated leadership or supervising experience is desirable.
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
