Title: CNC Machinist (3&5 Axis)
Location: Newcastle-Under-Lyme
Salary: Up to £18 p/h DOE

Hours: Monday to Thursday 07:30 – 16:30, Friday 07:30 – 12:30 (39 hours per week)
Overtime: Available, typically 8 hours per week paid at 1.5x
About the Role
We are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Turner to join the turning section of a well established precision engineering manufacturing team. This is a day shift position offering stable hours and regular overtime opportunities. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC lathes, ensuring components are produced to drawing specification, on time and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Working safely in line with company Health and Safety procedures
• Programming, setting and operating Fanuc controlled CNC lathes
• Producing components to tight tolerances and technical drawings
• Carrying out in process inspection in line with the company QMS
• Achieving estimated production cycle times and identifying improvement
opportunities
• Reporting any production or quality issues to the Production Manager
• Working closely with the engineering team to improve machining methods and tooling
strategies
• Maintaining a clean and organised work area
• Ensuring tooling and materials are returned to the correct storage locations
Machines in Use
You will be working on modern CNC lathes including:
• Doosan Puma 2600
• Doosan Puma series machines
Candidate Requirements
• Experience programming, setting and operating Fanuc controlled CNC lathes
• Strong understanding of precision engineering and tight tolerance work
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Self motivated with a strong work ethic
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
