Role: Assembly Production Engineer
Location: Mildenhall, Suffolk
Working hours: Sunday to Tuesday or Sunday to Wednesday, 6.00am - 6.00pm / 6.00pm - 6.00am (days or nights), fixed shift, rotating
Capacity of role: Permanent position
Salary: Between £35,000 - £40,000 per annum + shift allowance
Our client is a reputable and well-respected organization seeking to expand their team by recruiting an Assembly Production Engineer. You will receive comprehensive on-the-job training and guidance to support your development and progression within the team.
Main duties include:
1. Assist the Department Head in maintaining product output in the Assembly Area.
2. Investigate and suggest process improvements and/or cost reductions.
3. Assist in operating Assembly Machines to maintain production output.
4. Train new staff and provide ongoing training for existing staff.
5. Diagnose faults and repair Assembly Machines and related equipment.
6. Complete and update tasks using maintenance software.
7. Support other team members in the Assembly Area as needed.
8. Assist external engineers when required.
9. Support any additional requirements of the Assembly Department.
10. Provide weekend engineering cover on a rotational basis, once capable.
Candidate Attributes:
* Experience with a range of tool room/workshop machinery.
* 5-10 years’ experience in a production assembly environment, preferably on a 24/7 or shift basis.
* Strong mechanical aptitude with fault diagnosis skills related to machine wear and product quality.
* Disciplined, self-motivated, capable of working independently and as part of a team.
* Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
* Excellent communication skills, able to discuss issues across all levels of personnel.
