Overview
The ideal candidate will be educated to Degree/OND/HND or similar in Construction or Quantity Surveying.
Responsibilities
* Appraising tender documents and preparing estimates as necessary.
* Pricing of Bills of Quantities including build costs, preliminaries and fees.
* Leading tender adjudication meetings.
* Risk and value management of tenders, including spotting, advising internal teams on potential risks and opportunities in a tender/project.
* Investigating and pricing Value Engineering cost savings where applicable.
* Being the point of contact with clients, including raising and answering queries.
* Communicating effectively at all times with both clients and internal teams.
* Attending and taking notes of meetings relevant to the project.
* Ensuring accurate tracking of all tender documentation.
* Researching and understanding current market prices for subcontractors and materials.
* Preparing budget estimates and cost plans.
* Measuring and pricing accurate, complete cost plans.
* Establishing and maintaining tendering processes and conducting negotiations.
* Preparing and maintaining a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors.
* Monitoring targets and workflow.
* Executing scope-related activities including bulk excavations and cut & fill, contaminated ground disposal and remediation, de-watering in deep excavations, drainage and sewerage, rising mains and rainwater harvesting systems, enabling works and hard landscaping, external works and infrastructure (roads, paving, hardstandings and landscaping), general earthwork support (temporary and permanent), builders works in connection with utilities and services, substructure brickwork and blockwork, materials recycling, steel fixing, raft foundations, pile caps, ground beams, trench and pad foundations, waterproofing and pumping, construction of water retaining structures, basements, excavations, spoil removal and remediation, basement construction, retaining walls, facade retention, deep underpinning, soil stabilization, temporary works, drainage, reinforced concrete construction, steel fixing, and waterproofing in architectural concrete.
