Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site GCSE Maths Lecturer role based in Birmingham. The lecturer will plan, prepare, and deliver engaging GCSE Mathematics lessons that align with the relevant curriculum and exam board specifications. Responsibilities include designing learning resources, setting and marking assessments, providing timely feedback, and tracking learner progress to support achievement targets. The role involves offering additional support sessions where needed, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to quality assurance processes such as standardization and internal verification. The lecturer will work closely with colleagues to share best practice, participate in team meetings and development activities, and promote an inclusive, student-centered learning environment.
Qualifications
* Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, with the ability to explain concepts clearly at GCSE level.
* Experience or training in Curriculum Development and lesson planning aligned with GCSE specifications.
* Proven Teaching skills, including classroom management, differentiation, and effective use of learning technologies.
* Competence in basic Statistics relevant to the GCSE Maths curriculum.
* A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd, or equivalent), or willingness to work towards one.
* Experience teaching GCSE Maths or similar level in a school, college, or training environment.
* Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills, with a learner-focused approach.
