Full Job Description
CrossReach Children's Disability Services has been dedicated to supporting children and young people with a wide range of disabilities and additional needs for 30 years. We offer a welcoming environment where they can enjoy time away from home, fostering independence, friendships, and personal growth. We are now seeking a Senior Children’s Worker to join our team, helping us to enhance our services and make a meaningful impact on the lives of those we support.
Our residential short breaks service, The Mallard, provides a home-away-from-home experience for children and young people. Here, they can engage in various activities, build friendships, and develop independence. Whether it's through a movie night with familiar films, garden games, or tailored sensory environments, our team collaborates with families to create a supportive and enjoyable experience based on each individual's needs.
As a Senior Children’s Worker, you will lead the team in delivering tailored care and support. You will plan and implement activities that cater to the specific needs and aspirations of the young people in our care. This role offers the rewarding opportunity to see the positive effects of your work and the difference you make every day.
Qualifications required include an HNC level qualification and SVQ3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People), or a commitment to gaining these qualifications. Experience in administering medication and supporting a team in this area would be beneficial.
We also offer a range of benefits, including exclusive retail and leisure discounts, a contributory pension plan, death in service benefit, family-friendly policies, health cash plans, and support services such as a care concierge.
We support your training and development, including contributions to professional membership fees, to help you grow and develop in your career.
CrossReach has over 150 years of experience in high-quality social care, supporting people of all ages and pioneering services that have changed lives. We are one of the largest social care providers in Scotland, committed to growth, learning, and improvement, guided by our Christian ethos as part of the Church of Scotland.
This role requires you to have a Christian faith and be able to work within and uphold our Christian Ethos, which is an occupational requirement under the Equality Act 2010. You must also be a member of the PVG Scheme, undertake vetting checks, and be registered with SSSC, ensuring you meet the necessary standards and criteria.
We are committed to diversity and inclusion, valuing each individual's unique background, experience, and abilities. We aim to create an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and able to thrive.
