Job Description
As a member of our multi-skilled and mobile site team, you will be responsible for on-site installation, testing, and sign-off of projects, overseeing all aspects from start to finish. You should be enthusiastic, proactive in problem-solving, and committed to exceeding customer expectations while adhering to our management systems, including health and safety, environmental, and quality policies.
Your daily activities will include traveling to client sites, performing and supervising electrical installation and testing, and handling related documentation. You will be part of a wider site team managed by an Operation Manager and will have delegated responsibilities for site supervision from the site manager.
Core Responsibilities:
* Perform electrical installation and refurbishment on water company sites according to project requirements and schedule.
* Travel across the region to client sites, with potential overnight stays and paid overtime as needed.
* Work in outdoor environments and on sites handling sewage and drinking water, complying with hygiene standards.
* Manage multiple projects simultaneously if required.
* Specify job requirements, including parts, equipment, and materials.
* Work both onsite and in the company workshop as needed.
* Supervise electrical installations and refurbishment projects.
* Inspect and test electrical systems, troubleshoot problems, and verify installations.
* Complete accurate and timely documentation of work performed.
* Utilize design drawings, wiring diagrams, and manuals to complete projects.
* Survey electrical systems and plans.
* Supervise and manage installation teams, ensuring health and safety compliance.
* Ensure work complies with BS7671 standards and client-specific requirements.
* Communicate effectively and challenge issues when necessary.
* Maintain accountability and teamwork.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have experience and a positive attitude. We require at least 5 years of electrical installation and supervision experience, preferably within the UK water sector. Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to interpret electrical drawings and instructions.
* 5+ years’ experience post-qualification in electrical installation, testing, and supervision, ideally in the UK water sector
* Fully qualified electrical fitter (NVQ level 3 or equivalent)
* 2391 Test and Inspection certification (preferable)
* Control and automation experience (advantageous)
* Ability to lead and supervise teams, providing clear instructions
* Excellent health and safety knowledge
* Organized, able to multitask
* Strong communication skills
* Positive attitude and flexible approach to work
