Join to apply for the Support Practitioner (Female) role at Cornerstone.
Overview
We are looking for three caring, reliable and dedicated female colleagues on a permanent part-time basis (16, 20 or 25 hours per week) to join our team in Stonehaven. You will provide support to four individuals with various learning disabilities and help with daily living tasks.
Responsibilities
 * Provide support with all aspects of daily living, including cooking, cleaning, finances and medication.
 * Support with hobbies and interests such as gardening, cooking, baking, arts & crafts, going to the gym, attending events, going for walks, and getting out into the local community.
 * Contribute to a warm, friendly team environment and help individuals maintain independence and quality of life.
About You
Cornerstone does not recruit on experience and qualifications alone; we focus on what you as a person bring to the team. We will pay you for your training and provide the practical skills you’ll need, including funding for your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and yearly SSSC registration fees.
 * Good listening and communication skills
 * A caring attitude and approach
 * A positive approach to learning
 * An understanding of the importance of routines and guidelines
 * The ability to cook (baking would be a bonus)
It would be great if you also have a full manual driving licence, but this isn’t a deal breaker for the right candidates.
Shift Patterns
Shifts are varied and may include early mornings, days and evenings. Weekends and sleepovers will form part of the rota on a rotational basis. Sleepovers are paid separately (£100.80 per sleepover shift).
Due to service location, if you do not have your own vehicle, you should be mindful of travel requirements and the limited public transport links that fit the shift patterns.
Benefits and Additional Information
 * Opportunities for funded qualifications through our Training Academy
 * Ongoing professional development and career progression opportunities
 * Bonus and recognition schemes, including a colleague referral bonus and long service awards
 * Supportive culture with a focus on teamwork and empowerment
 * Discretionary benefits including discounts on cinema, gym memberships, holidays and shopping
 * Family-friendly leave options (including family, parental, bereavement and special leave)
 * 24/7 independent employee assistance helpline
 * 26 days annual leave (rising by 5 days after 5 years) plus 4 paid bank holidays
Compliance and Application
Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and work towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with support from our Training Academy. Please note: if you have spent more than 12 months outside the UK (with certain exceptions) while over 18, you may be asked to provide a criminal record certificate as part of pre-employment checks. If you join our team, you will need to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting.
Cornerstone welcomes applications from all sections of the community and actively seeks to increase diversity in our workforce.
We reserve the right to close the advert early if suitable candidates are found before the closing date. Apply early to avoid disappointment.
