Job Description:
As an Art Therapist, you will be responsible for providing therapeutic art sessions to SEN pupils in an educational setting. Your primary focus will be on using art as a form of communication and expression to support the emotional and mental well-being of the students.
Job Duties:
* Plan and deliver art therapy sessions tailored to the individual needs of SEN pupils
* Assess and evaluate the progress and development of each student through art therapy interventions
* Collaborate with teachers and other educational professionals to integrate art therapy into the students' learning plans
* Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions and student progress
* Stay up-to-date with best practises in art therapy and SEN education
Required Qualifications:
* Recognised qualification in Art Therapy
* Registration with a relevant professional body
* Experience working with SEN pupils
Education:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Art Therapy or a related field
Experience:
Prior experience working as an Art Therapist in an educational setting
Knowledge and Skills:
* Understanding of special educational needs and how art therapy can support these needs
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
* Empathy and patience when working with vulnerable populations
Working Conditions:
This role involves working with SEN pupils in an educational environment, typically during school hours. The position is part-time and temporary, requiring flexibility in scheduling.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
