The Role
* Lead mechanical design from concept to manufacture for machinery and process systems
* Oversee a small design team, checking and approving work to ensure quality and accuracy
* Produce 3D models, assemblies, fabrication drawings, and BOMs
* Plan workloads, allocate resources, and support Project Managers
* Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to resolve technical issues
* Manage drawing release, revision control, and documentation
You’ll Need
* HNC / HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
* 8 years’ experience in machinery, process, or automation design
* Strong fabrication, pipework, and assembly knowledge
* Experience mentoring, checking drawings, and maintaining design standards
* Confident communicator ready to step into leadership
Nice to Have
* Knowledge of P&IDs, process equipment, or DfM
* Familiarity with CE marking, machinery safety, or fluid systems
