The Role
A global industrial technology business is looking to recruit a Sales Engineer to drive growth across the UK & Ireland.
This is a field-based position combining technical sales, account management, and new business development. You will be responsible for developing customer relationships, identifying new opportunities, and delivering solutions across a range of industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
* Achieve territory sales targets and contribute to overall growth
* Generate new business opportunities and expand the customer base
* Develop long-term relationships with key clients
* Manage the full sales cycle from enquiry through to close
Technical Sales Support
* Provide pre-sales technical support and application advice
* Prepare quotations and proposals
* Deliver product demonstrations, presentations, and training
* Support customers post-sale to ensure successful implementation
Account Management & Strategy
* Maintain and grow existing accounts
* Identify opportunities to increase revenue and margins
* Contribute to market strategy and product development feedback
* Monitor competitor activity and market trends
Reporting & CRM
* Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and reporting
* Update CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce)
* Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders
What You’ll Need
* Degree (or equivalent) in engineering or a scientific discipline
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Sales Engineer or technical sales role
* Strong technical understanding within industrial or manufacturing environments
* Ability to communicate complex technical solutions clearly
* Experience working with CRM systems (Salesforce or similar)
* Strong organisational and reporting skills
Desirable:
* Experience in materials testing or quality control equipment
* Exposure to sectors such as automotive, plastics, packaging, pharma, or medical devices
* Experience with application software or system integration
Additional Requirements
* Willingness to travel extensively across the UK & Ireland (approx. 50%)
* Flexibility for overnight stays as required
* Full UK driving licence
