Our projects range from conceptual fire strategy development to handing over landmark projects. We undertake fire safety research to develop evidence-based solutions for novel fire safety hazards and strive to improve safety equity for the most vulnerable. We apply a ‘total fire engineering' approach to work on projects from feasibility to operation, aiming to enable a sustainable, resilient built environment with our in-house tools and software.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for graduates to join our team of over 120 fire engineers across UK offices. Your role will encompass all aspects of fire safety engineering, from preparing fire strategies in coordination with the engineering design team to the inspection and assessment of fire safety management and protection measures in existing buildings and facilities.
You will have the opportunity to liaise with external designers and other construction professionals on a wide range of projects, develop your ability to use fire-specific design software, conduct research, and visit sites to monitor the implementation of fire strategies and learn about fire safety system installation and construction.
From day one, you’ll be given responsibility to contribute to a range of varied and high-profile clients, with support to learn about fire engineering and develop as a fire engineer. We encourage all employees to work towards a professional qualification and will support this endeavour.
Responsibilities
 * Assist in preparing fire strategies in coordination with the engineering design team.
 * Inspect and assess fire safety management and protection measures in existing buildings/facilities.
 * Liaise with external designers and construction professionals on projects.
 * Develop proficiency in fire-specific design software and conduct related research.
 * Visit sites to monitor implementation of fire strategies and understand fire safety system installation and construction.
 * Contribute to a range of varied projects and support learning and development as a fire engineer.
Qualifications
 * Master's or bachelor's degree with predicted 2:2 or above in a relevant subject required to obtain engineering chartership, such as Fire Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Construction Management, Building Surveying, Applied Mathematics.
 * Architectural degrees with relevant fire safety modules will be considered, though focus will be on engineering.
 * Excellent written English and ability to provide evidence or examples of work if requested.
 * Strong numerical skills.
 * Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
 * Creative approach to problem solving.
 * Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
 * Organised, with ability to meet deadlines.
 * Able to use initiative and be inquisitive and proactive.
