Job Description
The Engineering Manager will have overall responsibility for ensuring efficient operation of the engineering function, including day to day breakdown maintenance, planning preventative maintenance and organising the Engineering team to achieve tasks within defined timescales and targets, in a way that minimises costs and maximises efficiencies whilst at no time jeopardising Product Safety or the Health and Safety of employees.
This role will lead and project manage the delivery of CAPEX plans and equipment improvement projects.
Duties include:
1. Effectively delegate maintenance tasks and small projects to the right skills in the team, planning and managing effective works
2. Review and develop the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensure full preventative maintenance is carried out and lead the team to deliver effectively
3. Audit and ensure compliance of the engineering data systems
4. Schedule both internal and external work(s) maximising planned down time and reducing unplanned downtime
5. Manage the team to ensure machine availability, reactively managing dysfunctional machinery with the factory leads
6. Optimise equipment according to standard procedure, enhancing performance and product quality, ensuring the achievement of all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
