Quarry Foreperson Aggregates Location: Coldstones Quarry, Harrogate Salary: Competitive The Quarry Foreperson is responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe and environmentally compliant operation of the quarry on a day‑to‑day basis. The role involves leading a team of qualified personnel, promoting safe working practices and ensuring operational performance is delivered efficiently and cost‑effectively. The successful candidate will be self‑motivated, well organised and an effective leader, capable of working closely with colleagues, suppliers and contractors to ensure smooth quarry operations. Key Accountabilities Health, Safety & Environment Ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, Local Managers Rules and all relevant Risk Assessments and Method Statements Promote a strong safety culture and lead by example at all times Ensure quarry operations are carried out safely and in line with environmental requirements Operational Management Liaise closely with site colleagues, the Unit Manager, suppliers and contractors to support efficient production and plant programming Provide continuous supervision of quarry activities to ensure: Efficient utilisation of labour, plant and materials Cost‑effective production Minimal downtime and disruption Support daily planning and coordination of quarry operations People & Development Lead, motivate and manage a team of qualified operatives Maintain clear communication with site teams to ensure work is carried out safely and efficiently Take responsibility for personal development through Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Attend training courses and seminars as determined by Heidelberg Materials What We're Looking For Proven experience in a quarrying or aggregates environment Strong working knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements Experience supervising or leading operational teams Organised, proactive and able to work under pressure Committed to continuous improvement and personal development What We Offer Competitive salary A key leadership role within a well‑established quarry operation Training and development through Heidelberg Materials Long‑term career opportunities Why Join us?
