We are seeking a dedicated and hands-on Financial Controller to lead our financial operations. You will be instrumental in managing our financial operations in our Glasgow Office. You will ensure the financial health and growth of our company through active involvement in day-to-day financial tasks, cashflow management and strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
* Oversee all financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
* Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
* Prepare, analyse, and present monthly management accounts, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
* Prepare, analyse, and present financial statements, reports, and forecasts.
* Prepare and submit quarterly VAT and monthly payroll returns.
* Oversee payroll processing and ensure timely salary disbursement.
* Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reconciliations.
* Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
* Provide strategic recommendations to the Directors and executive team based on financial analysis and projections.
* Manage cash flow to ensure the company's financial stability and operational efficiency.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
* Mentor and support a junior team member, fostering a culture of learning and development.
* Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and other financial institutions.
* Improve end-to-end accounting practices
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
* Professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred.
* At least 5+ years hands-on accounting experience
* At least 1+ years experience as a Financial Controller
* Proficiency with SAGE financial software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations and reporting standards.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Effective communication, organisation and leadership skills.
* Experience in managing cash flow and supplier relationships.
* Good attention to detail.
We’re looking for a hands-on Financial Controller who thrives in both day-to-day financial management and strategic planning. You’ll manage one finance team member and work closely with the head office team, providing mentorship while overseeing financial operations and delivering insights that drive growth.
Strong communication is essential as you’ll work closely with senior management and external partners. We need someone detail-oriented, forward-thinking, and focused on improving processes. Adaptability and a commitment to excellence are key traits for this role, as you’ll play a crucial part in ensuring ROX’s financial success.
