Salary: £32,916 – £51,048 (M1–UPS3)** per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Start Date: September 2026

About Us

Our new specialist school is set to open in late 2026, offering a nurturing, inclusive and aspirational environment for children and young people aged 5–19 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. With capacity for 72 students, our mission is to create a safe and enriching setting where every learner is supported to achieve their full potential.


The Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and experienced SENDCo to lead and champion our provision for students with complex special educational needs.

This is a rare opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping a new specialist setting from the ground up. You will work collaboratively with staff, families and external professionals to ensure high-quality, personalised support for every student.


Key Responsibilities

As SENDCo, you will:

* Lead and promote an inclusive, whole-school approach to SEND
* Oversee the Annual Review process and EHCP coordination
* Work closely with external agencies and professionals
* Support and develop staff through training and guidance
* Monitor and evaluate the quality of SEN teaching and learning
* Lead assessment, data tracking, and reporting for SEND
* Deliver CPD and INSET on best practice in SEND
* Contribute to strategic planning and school improvement


About You

We are looking for someone who brings:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a PGCE (or equivalent)
* A SENDCo qualification, or willingness to achieve this within 3 years
* Proven experience working with pupils with SEND (ideally in a specialist setting)
* Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and safeguarding requirements
* Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
* A collaborative, creative and child-centred approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
