Silver Birch Lodge is looking for a Laundry/Domestic Assistant to help provide our Housekeeping service. Our Laundry Assistant is responsible for the sorting, cleaning, drying, folding, ironing and sometimes mending of laundry items, ensuring they are returned to the correct owner or stored properly. Key duties include operating laundry machinery, pre-treating stains, maintaining a clean work area, and managing laundry supplies. Our Domestic Assistants help keep residents rooms, bathrooms, offices and all public areas clean and tidy. They do routine daily and weekly cleaning as well as deep cleans and responding to emergency spills. Both roles work as part of the Silver Birch Lodge team, making sure that patients have a pleasant, safe time in Silver Birch Lodge. We are looking for both positions or someone who may be flexible to work in both roles on different days.
Responsibilities
* To wash, dry, iron, and return residents personal clothing and other textile items.
* Removing stains from items using appropriate procedures.
* To ensure a regular supply of Laundry detergent.
* To be responsible for the maintenance of Laundry equipment. Reporting any defects to the proprietor.
* To ensure the correct handling of laundry with particular regard to soiled or infectious linen.
* To conform at all times with in house procedures, Health and Safety, Fire and COSHH.
* To distribute clothes into residents rooms making sure everything is tidy.
* To keep the Laundry room and laundry cupboard in a clean and hygienic condition on a daily basis.
* To perform other such reasonable duties as may be required.
Skills and Qualifications
* To have knowledge of basic laundry procedure.
* Able to Iron personal clothing and housekeeping items.
