Job Description
SLH is partnering with our client, an international Project Management Consultancy, who are looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to provide commercial support to the existing Commercial team and Project Managers.
The successful candidate may have recently graduated or be currently completing a BSc in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent qualification. Typical duties include:
1. Assisting in the preparation of tender documents, budgets/estimates, cost reports, and interim payment valuations.
2. Working effectively in a fast-paced environment and being a team player.
3. Having a basic understanding of JCT and NEC forms of contract.
4. Previous experience within the F&B and leisure industry/fitting out projects.
5. Possessing a UK driving license.
6. Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Bluebeam, CostX, or similar) and Microsoft Excel and Word.
7. Taking off quantities and preparing Bills of Quantities in accordance with SMM7 and NRM measurement rules.
8. Maintaining excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
9. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Assisting in and accurately measuring building floor areas, understanding the relationship between net vs. gross areas, and identifying key cost drivers impacting project value and efficiency.
11. Having a basic understanding of the key stages and design deliverables outlined in the RIBA Plan of Work.
