Job Overview

To note for candidates selecting London as a preference – your contractual place of work will be Endeavour Square, Stratford. It is likely that the site will be operational from Summer 2025. In the interim period you will be required to carry out your contractual duties from Spring Gardens, Vauxhall or such other reasonable location on a temporary basis. There will no entitlement to payments for travel time or costs under the Relocation and Excess Travel Policy.


Roles and Responsibilities

* Manage the new central Exhibit stores at Stratford and the Organised Crime Partnership (OCP) London in Tolworth, supervising and developing the Exhibit Store Officer.
* Ensure the continuity of exhibits in line with exhibit policy and legislation, contributing to court proceedings by identifying, readying and transporting exhibits for court.
* Manage exhibit storage environments, including maintaining and operating the freezer operation and keeping accurate records.
* Liaise across multiple teams and commands, assisting them with trial requirements by overseeing processes for extraction of evidential material from exhibits.
* Conduct relevant health and safety procedures, report issues or identified risks in accordance with health and safety legislation and Agency policy, and attend court and give evidence when required.
* Package exhibits appropriately for transport to court, accurately record exhibit movements, and implement legislative changes or audit findings related to exhibit management.
* Ensure the exhibit store has adequate cover, liaising with the Regional exhibit store manager to manage cover across sites.
* Manage exhibit recording, receipting, and movement removal of exhibits, including opening and sealing actions.
* Record receipt of exhibits left in the out‑of‑hours area of the exhibit store, including the drop box safe, and store them appropriately.
* Select exhibits due for return to subjects in line with PACE and advise the case team.
* Package exhibits required to be sent from the exhibit store (e.g. forensics), accurately record movement, and countersign forensic requests on exhibits as requested by the case team.
* Manage the exhibit safe, storage medium environments, and ensure the exhibit store has adequate documentation, including selecting and managing exhibits to be placed into remote storage and accurately recording and managing actions.
* Keep up to date with exhibit handling requirements, legislation and guidance, liaising with and participating in the Exhibits Working Group (EWG).


Qualifications

* Operational background with excellent knowledge of exhibit management, health and safety polices and risk management, and an excellent understanding of UK legislation around exhibit management.
* Proven track record of management and development of others.
* Experience of exhibit management and surrounding UK legislation; good working knowledge of exhibits, their handling and the legislation surrounding exhibit management.
* People management: ability to manage two exhibit stores officers across two separate locations in Tolworth and Stratford, and travel to both sites is essential.
* Relationship building: ability to influence the teams who utilise the exhibit store, ensuring that their handling of exhibits and processes are in line with existing NCA policies.
