Transport and Compliance Manager

In this role you will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient and compliant operation of our transportation fleet, focusing on maintenance planning, regulatory adherence, and safety protocol implementation.
Position: Transport and Compliance Manager
Location: Millbrook Depot (Southampton, Hampshire)
Job Type: permanent, full-time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Salary: £36,000 to £42,500 depending upon experience

About the Role:
Due to continued growth and development, we are looking for a Transport and Compliance Manager to join our Transport Division, delivering real and effective solutions with our fleet of vehicles.
Responsibilities
* Vehicle Maintenance
o Develop and execute comprehensive preventive maintenance programs for the transportation fleet.
o Collaborate with in-house maintenance teams and external service providers to ensure timely and efficient repairs and inspections.
o Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, schedules and costs.
* Regulatory Compliance
o Stay abreast of UK transportation regulations and standards, ensuring compliance with local, national and industry-specific laws.
o Conduct regular audits to verify safety and environmental compliance.
o Work with authorities and agencies to address compliance issues and stay informed about updates.
* Safety Protocols
o Implement and enforce robust safety protocols to minimise accidents and protect transportation personnel.
o Provide training to drivers and staff on safety procedures and compliance requirements.
o Investigate and report any incidents, taking corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
* Working with Key Stakeholders
o Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure effective communication and alignment of objectives.
o Engage with regulatory bodies, suppliers and clients to address concerns and foster positive relationships.
* Documentation and Reporting
o Maintain records of vehicle inspections, maintenance and compliance activities.
o Generate reports for management highlighting KPIs related to maintenance and compliance.
* Vendor Management
o Coordinate with external vendors for vehicle maintenance and compliance services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and high-quality standards.

About You
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organisational and communication skills, and a commitment to safety and compliance within our operations. Knowledge of UK transportation regulations and compliance standards is essential. Experience with maintenance software and record-keeping systems is beneficial. A full UK driving licence is crucial to the role.
