Robertson Bell are working with a large and complex organisation based in Bath, to recruit an experienced Head of Finance to provide leadership, stability and technical expertise during an important period of transition within the organisation.
This is a highly visible role with responsibility for financial control, treasury, statutory reporting and the wider financial governance framework. The successful candidate will also provide leadership across a sizeable finance function, overseeing multiple teams and experienced managers whilst acting as a trusted deputy to the Finance Director.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the financial control environment, ensuring strong governance, compliance and internal controls
2. Oversee a finance function of 20+ staff through several experienced managers
3. Take ownership of cash flow forecasting, treasury management and banking relationships
4. Review and challenge management accounts, reconciliations and financial reporting outputs
5. Oversee the statutory accounts preparation and year-end reporting
6. Provide oversight of transactional finance operations, including payables, receivables and income functions
7. Work closely with FP&A leadership on budgeting, forecasting and financial performance
8. Represent Finance at senior leadership meetings, committees and governance forums
Person Specification
9. Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
10. Strong technical financial accounting and financial control experience
11. Proven track record of leading finance teams in a complex environment
12. Experience overseeing transactional finance functions and financial operations
13. Strong treasury, debt management and cash flow forecasting capability
14. Ability to operate credibly with senior stakeholders and leadership teams
Additional Information
15. This is an initial three-month contract, in which our client is looking to have hired to, and the successful candidate started, within the next week so, we are looking for candidates on a short, or no, notice period.
16. This role falls Inside IR35 and will be paid via an Umbrella Company.
17. Our client runs a hybrid working model with two days per week required in their offices.
