Overview
Deputy General Manager role based in Shoreditch, London. Salary up to £39,000. Schedule: Monday-Friday only. The position is for someone with a background in exceptional food catering services to join one of our prestigious contracts.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with the back of house team to help develop well-balanced and nutritious menus that cater to diverse dietary requirements and preferences.
* Prepare and manage the catering budget, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining quality standards.
* Establish strong relationships with school Bursars, Head Teachers and faculty.
* Recruit, train, supervise and motivate catering staff.
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and quality control protocols.
* Identify opportunities for growth, innovation and improvement in menu offerings, service delivery and operational efficiency.
* Maintain strict adherence to health and safety regulations, ensuring a clean and organised retail environment.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Deputy Retail Manager/Deputy General Manager/Assistant Manager in a high-volume, quality-focused environment, preferably contract catering.
* Experience in managing, training, and supporting a team.
* Financially astute, able to create and maintain budgets and drive commercial performance.
* Excellent coaching, delegation and influencing skills.
* Ability to prioritise multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and thrive under pressure.
* Multitasking, prioritisation skills and adaptability in a fast-paced setting.
* Meticulous organisational abilities and high attention to detail.
* Empathetic, clear and effective verbal and written communication.
* Solution-oriented mindset to adapt to challenges and opportunities.
* Excellent strategic thinking and critical reasoning skills.
