Our Opportunity
We have an excellent opportunity for a Service Development Manager within the IAS UK (Integrated Airspace Protection Systems UK) business line of Thales, based out of Belfast. This is a Product Support related role responsible for the development, implementation and delivery of all Product Support aspects of services, including tactical and technical aspects relating to operation, deployment and support of IAS UK products and systems. The objective is to build and maintain customer relationships and ensure customer satisfaction across all aspects of service delivery.
Roles & Responsibilities
* Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) Product Support internally within Thales and externally within the Customer and User communities, with detailed tactical and technical knowledge of operation and deployment of Company Products.
* Lead End User interface across all aspects of Product Support and at all levels of seniority.
* Provide expert guidance into the design and development of each support element, including transition of prime equipment into service.
* Act as the lead customer interface for all Product Support related issues, ensuring customer requirements are understood and satisfaction is delivered.
* Support design, development and delivery of Product Support including Training and Technical publications across all support aspects.
* Lead investigations and resolution of system operational and performance issues, determining appropriate actions.
* Coordinate with OEM/DA, Training Team, Customer and End Users regarding future missile and platform software upgrades and their implementation.
* Provide technical advice on concept of use and concept of operation at individual and system-of-systems levels.
About you
Essential:
* Significant experience as a SME within Air Defence and the Force Protection sector.
* Current and competent on Air Defence concepts of use and operations; ideally from a military background with recent service.
* Significant experience in design, delivery and validation of Product Support solutions.
* Technical experience with direct interface to customer personnel and end users across the customer organisation.
* Strong leadership and motivational qualities to direct and achieve results from teams without direct authority.
* Assertive but approachable with good interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
Desirable:
* Ability to develop, plan and deliver Product Support solutions interfacing with IAS UK customers, including senior military personnel.
* Detailed practical knowledge of a range of THALES products and ability to conduct practical technical support on system operation, maintenance, testing and setup procedures.
* Ability to adapt approaches overseas to changing circumstances (customer competence, language, facilities).
Security Clearance
Due to the nature of work, many roles are subject to security restrictions. This role requires you to achieve Security Clearance (SC) without caveats. It would be advantageous if currently held; otherwise the successful applicant must obtain and maintain SC prior to commencing employment. Eligibility generally requires residency in the UK for the last 5 years (with some circumstances allowing 3 years of residence over the last 5 years).
