SEND Teaching Assistant Location: Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire Salary: £93- £110per day (Depending on experience) Contract: Full-Time Start Date: September 2026 (or sooner) Support, Inspire, and Make a Difference GSL Education Hull is seeking compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to work within primary / secondary setting across Hull and the East Riding. This rewarding role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and helping them achieve their full potential. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, Speech and Language Difficulties, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). The Role as a SEN Teaching Assistant: Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEND. Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement individual learning plans and strategies. Support students in accessing the curriculum and promoting independence. Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing. Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and abilities. Build positive relationships with students, parents/carers, and colleagues. Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment. The Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant Will: Have previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND in an educational, care, or support setting. Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate patience, empathy, and resilience. Be passionate about supporting children with diverse learning needs. Be flexible, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team. Hold an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
