What the Job Involves As a Forensic Social Worker - Approved Mental Health Practitioner, you will: Provide a high-performing social work service to adults in the community Work with mentally disordered offenders, assessing their social care needs and developing support plans Act as an AMHP under the Mental Health Act, participating in the AMHP rota Provide professional leadership and supervision to social work colleagues Coordinate Mental Health Act assessments and manage a caseload of offenders Promote partnership work across Adult Social Work Mental Health Services Skills Experience in applying legislative frameworks (e.g., Mental Health Act, Care Act) Strong assessment and case management skills Knowledge of safeguarding and mental capacity legislation Ability to manage complex caseloads independently Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficiency in using Case Management systems Leadership and mentoring capabilities
