About the Role
As Major Projects Director, you will lead the successful delivery of a large-scale, multidisciplinary infrastructure project—managing performance across design, engineering, construction, and commercial delivery. This is a senior operational role responsible for the safe, sustainable and efficient delivery of a large and significant income stream or strategically important customer in a highly regulated sector.
Operating at a senior level, you will collaborate with internal teams, customers, and stakeholders to drive project outcomes, ensure safety and sustainability, and deliver on our commitment to excellence.
This is a key leadership position, with the opportunity to shape outcomes that have a lasting impact on communities and the built environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the planning and execution of complex infrastructure projects, ensuring delivery to agreed time, cost, quality, and safety standards.
Champion health, safety, environmental, and quality best practices across all stages of the project.
Build and support high-performing, collaborative teams across disciplines and supply partners.
Identify and manage project risks and opportunities using structured processes.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers, stakeholders, and partners.
Contribute to strategic business development and support tender and bid activity.
Promote Morgan Sindall’s "Perfect Delivery" approach, embedding continuous improvement and service excellence.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a collaborative and experienced major project leader with a strong background in delivering complex infrastructure projects—ideally involving significant civil engineering, MEICA, or related sector experience.
Key experience and capabilities:
Proven leadership of large-scale programmes in regulated sectors (e.g. rail, energy, water, highways).
Strong understanding of multidisciplinary integration and project governance.
Sound commercial awareness and ability to manage budgets effectively.
Confident communicator and relationship-builder with strong influencing skills.
Commitment to fostering inclusive teams and supporting individual development.
Qualifications:
