We are seeking a hands-on Powertrain Test & Validation Engineer to support the development and validation of electric powertrain systems, focusing on Power Electronics (PE) and Motor/Generator (MG) technologies.
The role acts as the key technical interface between the design engineering team and test facilities, ensuring accurate execution of validation activities, high-quality data capture, and effective root cause analysis of system issues.
This position is highly practical, data-driven, and collaborative, requiring strong test execution capability combined with analytical problem-solving skills in an automotive electrification environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Execute and manage daily powertrain test cell activities (setup, commissioning, execution, teardown)
* Develop and execute test procedures for validation of PE + MG systems
* Translate engineering requirements into structured test plans and validation activities
* Support instrumentation setup, DAQ configuration, and test rig readiness
* Collect, validate, and ensure integrity of test data prior to release
* Perform post-processing and analysis using MATLAB and/or ANSYS tools
* Investigate system/component failures and perform structured root cause analysis
* Apply Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and structured problem-solving methodologies
* Work closely with design and simulation teams to correlate test vs simulation results
* Generate technical reports and present findings clearly to engineering stakeholders
* Manage hardware changes, spare parts readiness, and test configuration updates
* Ensure compliance with test standards and quality requirements throughout validation cycles
Required Skills & Experience
* Experience in powertrain testing or electrical validation environments
* Strong exposure to Power Electronics and/or Motor/Generator systems
* Hands-on experience with test execution, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems
* Experience in failure analysis and structured troubleshooting
* Ability to interpret engineering requirements and translate them into test setups
* Experience working in automotive, EV, aerospace, or heavy engineering environments (preferred)
* Bachelor's or Master\'s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline is required
* Software Requirements: Required: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); Strongly Preferred: MATLAB / Simulink, Ansys, PCAN (or equivalent CAN tools)
