Job Description: Vice President, Group Underwriting Lead, London
Sovereign Risk Insurance, a Chubb Bermuda company specialising in political risk insurance, is seeking a dynamic and experienced candidate with a strong legal and international finance background to lead our growing underwriting team in London.
This role involves actively participating in marketing efforts, representing Sovereign at high-level meetings and conferences, and providing legal support to colleagues in London and Bermuda.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and develop a team of underwriters in London.
2. Undertake underwriting duties for political risk and non-payment insurance.
3. Participate in marketing efforts, including international travel.
4. Manage all Know Your Customer requests from Sovereign clients.
5. Oversee legal and regulatory projects and provide transactional legal support to underwriters.
Skills & Qualifications:
1. Valid law qualification (English Law preferred).
2. Experience in a law firm, commercial bank, or similar financial services company.
3. Knowledge of international investment law.
4. Expertise in structured trade, export, project finance, and third-party investor deals.
5. Understanding of infrastructure investments in emerging markets.
6. Experience in drafting and negotiating political risk and non-payment insurance contracts.
7. Understanding of cross-border banking practices.
8. Strong communication skills.
9. Dynamic, proactive personality.
10. Management experience preferred.
11. Proficiency in a foreign language (French, Spanish, or German) is a bonus.
