* To provide operational and logistical support to our Architectural Glass and Fire Division Team based in Burgess Hill.
* To ensure that all necessary plant to deliver glass materials is in place, that supplier orders are placed in a timely and efficient manner and that transfer of materials to UK sites is communicated effectively.
* To help manage and organise a dedicated warehouse space.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* To ensure that supplier orders are processed in an efficient and timely manner and that all order processing timescales and cut off points are adhered to.
* To routinely monitor and track live orders to ensure that they are meeting appropriate timescales and identify potential issues at the earliest opportunity.
* To ensure suppliers are well informed of company requirements and project timescales.
* To liaise with project managers, internal sales team, accounts department and technical teams as appropriate.
* To develop and maintain tracking systems for project orders.
* To provide general warehouse support to the operations team. Organise and maintain warehouse space ensuring stock levels are kept up to date and maintaining excellent housekeeping.
* Distribution of fire glass materials, involving mechanical lifts and adhering to strict protocols.
* Booking of vehicles and organising carriage of materials to UK sites.
* Ensuring that all company-owned distribution plant is maintained, repaired and tracked to and from location.
* Ensure knowledge and awareness of your roles and responsibilities under the Company’s integrated management systems in relation to Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental.
* Ensure knowledge and understanding of the Company’s policies and procedures in relation to data protection legislation.
Person Specification
* Previous experience of working in an administrative and customer service environment.
* Excellent communication skills and an ability to develop and maintain good working relationships both internally and externally.
* Previous experience of working within a warehouse environment, ideally with a licence to operate a forklift (although training may be provided).
* Ability to operate warehouse machinery and to adhere to Health and Safety Procedures and Method Statements.
* The ability to build a good rapport with team members and suppliers.
* Proven track record of excellent organisational skills and an ability to prioritise tasks.
* Accuracy and attention to detail.
* Ability to balance multiple priorities and to work to strict deadlines.
* Self-motivated and able to use initiative.
* Computer literate with an ability to use order processing systems.
* Ability to demonstrate a commitment to own personal development within the role.
Qualifications
The following are preferred and/or required:
* Forklift Licence (although training may be provided).
* GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
Hours and Environment
Working 8.00am to 4.30pm, Monday to Thursday and 8.00am to 4.00pm on Friday, with a one-hour lunch break each day.
