Youth Workers / Cover Supervisors (Secondary Schools)
Pay: £90 – £110 per day | Flexible, term-time work
About Us
We are a specialist education recruitment agency partnering with secondary schools across the region. We support youth workers stepping into the classroom as cover supervisors — giving you the chance to engage with young people in a school setting, without the full burden of lesson planning or marking.
The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
Supervise classes using pre-prepared lesson materials in the absence of the teacher.
Maintain order, manage behaviour, and ensure a safe, productive learning environment
Support students with questions during tasks
Report on class progress, behaviour, and any issues to teaching staff
Occasionally assist with exam invigilation, extra-curricular duties or other school support tasks.
Why This Role Stands Out
Strong daily rates — Your proposed range (£90–£110) is competitive with market norms.
No planning or marking burden — When your day is done, it is done.
Flexible work pattern — choose which days you work, pick up short-term or longer assignments
Valuable experience — ideal for those considering teaching or broader roles in youth work / education.
Variety — work across different schools, encounter varied settings and student groups
Professional development — many cover supervisors later transition into permanent in-school roles.
Who We’re Looking For
Youth workers, sports coaches, mentors, those with experience engaging with young people
Confident in managing groups and dealing with behaviour positively
Reliable, punctual, adaptable
Strong communication and presence
Desirable (but not essential): some school / classroom experience, safeguarding training
