Bank Health Records Clerical Officer (Summer job)
The closing date is 21 May 2026.
Short-term bank work for 13 weeks/over Summer period
The Health Records Library and Scanning Bureau manages the case note library, which holds the majority of patient health records for Harrogate & District NHS Foundation Trust (HDFT). These records must be stored, retained, transported, and destroyed in accordance with the NHS Records Management Code of Practice. The service also operates a Scanning Bureau, and this post includes responsibilities for digitising physical records by scanning them into the EDMS. Most scanning is carried out at Hornbeam Park, while an on-site bureau at Harrogate District Hospital facilitates prompt digitisation of paper records generated during care.
This Health Records Prepping Clerk supports the Health Records Library and Scanning Bureau by preparing medical records for digital scanning. Medical records requested by Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust (HDFT) services are scanned on demand by the Health Records Scanning Bureau. Prior to scanning, each record must be appropriately "prepped" to ensure all information is clearly visible and suitable for electronic capture. This process includes, but is not limited to cutting out booklets, removing staples and ensuring all information contained in the record is clearly visible when scanned.
