Are you a passionate and dedicated SEND Teacher looking for a new opportunity? Axcis Education is recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEND school, which is seeking a teacher to join their team in September 2024. This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, initially until Christmas. The role is based in a large specialist setting in Leeds, catering to students aged 2-11 with needs including Autism, PMLD, SLD, complex medical needs, sensory impairments, and physical disabilities.
The successful applicant will have the flexibility to work in the class that best matches their skill set. The school offers excellent onsite facilities, including sensory rooms, hydrotherapy, and outdoor spaces for pupils.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan, prepare, and deliver individualised lessons in accordance with each student's Education, Health and Care Plan.
2. Provide tailored support and instruction to students with various SEN, including ASC, PMLD, SEMH, and complex needs.
3. Implement evidence-based interventions and behaviour management techniques to support students’ development.
4. Collaborate with the SENCO, support staff, and teachers to ensure an inclusive learning environment.
5. Foster a nurturing classroom atmosphere promoting engagement, independence, and confidence.
Ideal Candidate:
* Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent qualification.
* Experience supporting students with SEND, particularly ASC, PMLD, and related needs.
* Up-to-date Team Teach Training.
* Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning styles.
* Excellent communication skills.
* A positive, empathetic approach to supporting SEND students.
