Head of Finance - Chelmsford, Essex (Hybrid) -£Six figure package
My client, a growing housebuilder in Chelmsford is hiring a hands-on Head of Finance to bring pace, grip and commercial edge to the finance function.
This is a role for someone who likes to get stuck in, tighten the engine room, and partner the business as it scales - with real visibility at board level.
Key responsibilities:
* Run a slick month-end: management accounts, reporting, board packs
* Lead budgeting, forecasting and cashflow with confidence
* Upgrade controls, processes and reporting rhythm (less firefighting, more forward-looking)
* Be the finance partner to construction + commercial - challenge, influence, drive performance
* Own audit, statutory accounts, VAT/CIS and compliance
* Coach and grow the team as the business expands
Key skills:
* ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified or equivalent
* Strong on the technicals, naturally commercial
* Experienced in housebuilding / construction / property / project-led environments (ideal)
* A confident stakeholder manager - firm, fair, and constructive
* Someone who improves how things work: systems, controls, cadence
