Job Description:
Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, load, and unload materials efficiently while ensuring safety and compliance with company policies. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Hours of work
12:00-21:00 Monday to Friday
Rates of pay
first 12 weeks £13 ph ( Training rate )
after 12 weeks £14.15 ph + overtime at £17.83 ph
Duties
Operate forklifts to transport materials within the warehouse.
Load and unload goods from lorries
Order Picking
Maintain accurate records of inventory using a warehouse management system.
Conduct routine inspections and perform basic repairs on equipment as needed.
Handle materials safely and efficiently, ensuring proper stacking and storage.
Assist with shipping and receiving processes, verifying incoming and outgoing shipments.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries.
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while operating machinery.
Skills
Proficient in forklift operation with relevant certifications
Experience in warehouse management systems for tracking inventory.
Strong mechanical knowledge for equipment repair and maintenance tasks.
Familiarity with materials handling procedures in a warehouse setting.
Basic mathematical skills for accurate inventory counting and record keeping.
Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role.
Previous experience in shipping and receiving processes is advantageous.
