Are you highly organised, proactive, and thrive on making things happen? We’re looking for a Business Manager to be the right-hand partner to our Chief Customer Officer, driving the smooth running of the Customer function and ensuring our priorities are delivered to the highest standard. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping strategy, coordinating projects, and keeping the function running like clockwork – all while helping embed a customer-first culture across the organisation.
If you enjoy making things run smoothly, spotting better ways to work, and being at the heart of a busy, passionate team, we’d love to have you on board.
Here’s a taste of what you will be doing as a Business Manager at Nottingham Building Society: -
* Leadership support: Partner with the CCO to anticipate priorities, support decision-making, and keep the Customer function on track.
* Strategic Planning: Support the CCO in shaping, tracking, and reporting on the customer plan; monitor delivery of priorities and escalate risks or issues as needed; and use data and insight to guide decision-making.
* Operational excellence : Own the operational rhythm of the CCO, preparing top-quality briefings, reports, presentations, and communications.
* Governance, Audit & Compliance : Support the CCO’s input into committees, working groups, and reporting cycles to ensure governance is clear, effective, and well-informed. Help coordinate audit, risk, and compliance actions, ensuring deadlines are met and evidence is captured.
* Business & Resource Management: Oversee operational aspects of the function, including budgets, resources, and performance tracking.
* Stakeholder & Relationship Management: Build strong relationships across the organisation, acting as a liaison between the CCO, senior leaders, and external partners.
* Communication & Engagement: Create engaging presentations, updates, and messages that keep colleagues aligned and champion our member-first culture.
About you: -
* Strong organisational and project management skills, able to juggle multiple priorities and deliver under pressure.
* Excellent communication skills, producing clear, concise, Board-ready materials.
* Experience in business management, strategy, or chief-of-staff–style roles, ideally in financial services or customer-focused sectors, with a solid understanding of customer strategy, conduct risk, and regulatory requirements (including Consumer Duty).
* Analytical and pragmatic mindset, able to challenge constructively, solve problems, and drive practical delivery.
* High integrity and stakeholder skills, confident in influencing senior leaders and building positive relationships across teams.
