The primary function of the role is to to assist the Corporate Head of Planning, Economy and Built Environment Control and Development Manager by providing capacity and dealing with Planning matters and progress significant schemes.
1. To be responsible for your own case load of mainly large high profile planning applications and appeals.
2. To meet the objectives set out in the Councils service area plan.
3. To assist with service improvement where appropriate.
4. Ensure Targets, with particular reference to the quality and speed of decision making, described in the Planning Business Plan are met.
MAIN DUTIES OF THE POST
1. To be responsible case officer and lead on planning applications of substantial complexity. Any other cases as required by the Council.
2. To assist the Development Manager as required in the determination and progression of defined planning applications in accordance with the Councils delegation procedure.
