Purpose of the role
To lead and manage engineering teams, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions, driving technical excellence, fostering a culture of innovation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align technical decisions with business objectives.
Accountabilities
1. Lead engineering teams effectively, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture to achieve project goals and meet organizational objectives.
2. Oversee timelines, team allocation, risk management and task prioritization to ensure the successful delivery of solutions within scope, time, and budget.
3. Mentor and support team members' professional growth, conduct performance reviews, provide actionable feedback, and identify opportunities for improvement.
4. Evaluation and enhancement of engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to increase efficiency, streamline workflows, and optimize team productivity.
5. Collaboration with business partners, product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions and ensure a cohesive approach to product development.
6. Enforcement of technology standards, facilitate peer reviews, and implement robust testing practices to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions.
Must Have Skills
7. Hands on experience in working with AWS services such using Glue, Step Functions, EventBridge, Lambda, S3, and Redshift, with strong proficiency in CloudFormation
8. Hands on experience working with REST APIs, including integration and development.
9. Containerisation & Orchestration: Hands-on experience with Docker
10. Strong Python programming skills, with the ability to write clean, efficient, and scalable code. Expertise in writing efficient PySpark/Spark SQL code
11. Practical experience with GitLab, including version control, CI/CD pipelines, and branch management
12. Strong ownership mindset, with the ability to drive tasks end to end without requiring constant follow ups.
13. [Not Mandatory but Good to Have] - Hands-on Databricks experience for building, scheduling, and monitoring data pipelines (Jobs, Workflows, Delta Live etc.,)
