The Post
We manage a variety of work within different teams and the successful candidate will be allocated to a team based on organisational requirements.

The Candidate
As a Data Management Officer, you will play a crucial role in tackling Scotland’s public health challenges. Your responsibilities will include:
* Interrogate submitted national data for the purposes of data monitoring, quality, completeness and timeliness, including developing work plans in consultation with data providers
* Develop and contribute to national data standards and definitions to ensure data integrity and consistency across Scotland and the UK
* Process national data and updating corporate databases timeously
* Use expert knowledge of the data set and system processes to investigate data and system problems which are often complex that may arise from validation issues or system problems
* Provide professional expert advice and guidance on data management matters including: data mapping and conversions, validation rules and technical formats; exploring alternative solutions and providing guidance on complex issues
* Provide training and presentations to clinical and non-clinical staff, data providers and colleagues participating in data collection across Scotland
Location and Working Pattern:
The post is based in either Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Bothwell Street, Glasgow. We currently operate a hybrid working model; therefore, you will be expected to spend time in both PHS offices as well as the option to work at home.
The work pattern for this post is Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week.
PHS is a flexible employer, and we are happy to discuss requests for alternative working patterns
During times of public health emergency, or other urgent business need, you may be required on a temporary basis to work your normal contracted working hours over 7 days including weekends, in order to meet the needs of the service.
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with PHS.

* Assessment Day: Monday 21st July & Tuesday 22nd July - candidates will attend in Glasgow or Edinburgh on one of the days detailed. You must be successful at this assessment to progress to the interview stage.
* Interviews: Will be held face-to-face in our Gyle Square office, Edinburgh at an appointed time/ date between Wed 30th July – Thurs 14th August
* Notification of Interview: 5 working days
