We are looking for a Learning Designer to play a critical role in the design and development of engaging, interactive learning resources and experiences. The successful candidate will collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and cross-functional teams to create learning solutions that align with organisational objectives and meet the needs of a diverse workforce.
Working across various digital platforms, including the Learning Experience Platform (LXP), this role requires creativity, attention to detail and a strong understanding of design principles.

What will you be doing?
1. Create engaging, interactive digital learning content that supports blended learning strategies, applying instructional design principles and adult learning theories to ensure effective learner engagement.
2. Work closely with SMEs to gather content and translate complex information into easy-to-understand interactive learning materials that meet business and learner needs.
3. Assist in the development and ongoing improvement of the LXP, ensuring the smooth integration and accessibility of digital resources for learners.
4. Contribute to the project management of learning design projects, ensuring that deliverables are produced on time and within scope, while adhering to quality standards.
5. Visualise, share and deliver creative ideas for learning through the creation of treatment documents, scripts, storyboarding, etc, to support the clarity of design intent.
6. Ensure that learning content, both written and visual, meets quality standards and aligns with organisational messaging, providing constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
7. Stay informed about the latest trends in instructional design, digital learning tools and education technologies to continuously improve learning design processes and capabilities.
8. Executes additional tasks as required to meet the FA's changing priorities.
9. Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure that the highest standards of health, safety, and well-being can be maintained.
10. As part of the FA's commitment to ensuring a safe environment for everyone in football, every employee will be required to complete a DBS check. The level of the check required will be based on the activity of the specific job role and in line with legislation and government guidance.
What are we looking for?
Essential for the role:
11. Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
12. Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant subject area (e.g., instructional design, education or digital learning).
13. Creation of blended learning solutions, with a track record of applying learning theories to meet learner needs.
14. Collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to develop educational content.
15. Ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects effectively.
16. Excellent written and communication skills (able to clearly articulate instructional strategies and content ideas).
17. Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to inform content improvements and instructional design.
Beneficial to have:
18. Knowledge of learning platforms, including LMSs, LXPs and social learning sites.
19. Experience working in an educational or sporting organisation.
20. Project management, including managing outsourced projects with external suppliers and agencies.
21. Familiarity with e-learning authoring tools, such as Adapt, Evolve and Articulate Storyline 360.

Currently, we are working within a hybrid working model whereby the expectation is to work from your contractual location for part of the week, and as and when required by the team. The remaining days can be worked remotely. We will continue to monitor this model, and it may be adjusted in future if deemed necessary.
